But of course Ron Paul stands zero chance of winning as an independent. It's all part of the master plan: Paul will cannibalize Republican votes from Romny, and Obama will win by a wide margin. Go Ron Paul!

I actually emailed Ron Paul's office a few moths ago and asked him if he would consider , at the last minute , dumping the Republicans and going it alone . I suggested calling his Party the 99% . I didn't get a reply but I hope he gives it some thought .
He would not only get his followers votes , but also disgruntled Republicans votes and also Democrats who like him but wouldn't vote for a Republican .

It seems he will still a lot of Obama supporters. But Obama will win so speculation to the contrary is useless.

at that moment they are literally prepared to give their lives, not for Paul, but for the Libertarian ideal, it shows to me that their is the potential seed of a second US Civil War, if it wasn't for the fact that Americans are too obese to riot and die.

If Paul's ideology is not represented/openly acknowledged and take on board somehow by the GOP presidential nominee, assuming Paul doesn't run as an independent, then there's going to be a large chunk of fractious disgruntled pro-Paul electorate, with even a few Timothy Mcveighs with munitions.
