Interesting for sure, but I think my point stands that the West / Israel would be prepared to lose a lot more planes than Iran could shoot down. Hell, they would probably cruise missile the SAM sites before even sending in planes.

This situation is not at all clear.

If Obama goes to war he will lose a lot of support. Israel wants the U.S. to lead the attack. This will be nearly unilateral war. The only other country that would mildly support the U.S. is Britain and I would bet money that they do not help the U.S. much.

Obama would lose a lot more votes if he were to go to war. Losing the 2% of Jewish votes is not important when you look at the big picture. I highly doubt those jewish people will vote for Romney and they certainly will not vote for Santorum. If Santorum is the nominee than we get four more of Obama and Israel is on its own.
