How do I treat a spider bite? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 12349371 United States 03/18/2012 05:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yesterday evening I had a small bite on my arm that started itching. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1150731 I have put calamine lotion on it. It was about 1/2 inch then. Today (about 24 hrs later) it has grown to 2 inches. It is like a large, slightly red growing bump that still itches. Anything I can do to treat it? I thought it was a mosquito bite, but now I am afraid that a spider bit me. Thanks for your suggestions! could be bed bug? |

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars. I'd like to go quietly in my sleep, like grandpa did. Not screaming in terror like the people in the back seat of the car he was driving. |

Thanks for your suggestions! I was bitten by a spider a couple of months ago, and the spider bite blistered straight away. It was also itchy as a bitch. You guys get some nasty spiders. You should get it checked out. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1150731 It feels warm to touch and is about 2 inches, it itches slightly. I never saw what bit me. I was not in bed when it happened....it was yesterday afternoon. It may not be a bug bite. You might be growing another nipple. Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars. I was bitten by a brown recluse. What worked for me was taking Wild Oil of Oregano drops ( 3 drops under the tongue, 4 times a day). I also applied the Wild Oil of Oregano on the bite then put raw honey over the top of the oil and covered it with a bandage, I did this every hour until it looked better and stopped itching. You can only find this at a health food store. Make sure it's the Wild Oil of Oregano, it works the best. It is also expensive, but well worth the cost. Everyone should keep a bottle of this stuff in their home. It's good for so many conditions. Here is a link with some info. on Oil of Oregano. [link to www.healingnaturallybybee.com] I also have this book called- " The Cure is in the Cupboard" How to use Oregano for Better Health. It tells you how much to take/how to use it, for different kinds of ailments. |

Thanks for your suggestions! Take some raw bacon and apply a few slices to it, then wrap in cellophane or with gauze. The bacon should be cooked in the morning. Take it off THROW IT ALL AWAY, then repeat process again. It should only take 2 overnights for it to be gone. A friend of mine saved my life with this remedy. AND WE ARE TALKING LIFE THREATENING HERE!!!!! SPEAK UP. SILENCE IS DEADLY! I am currently experiencing life at several WTFs per hour. |

Vitamin C is wondrous at assisting the liver to neutralize toxic elements in the body. My husband went to the ER a couple of years ago for a spider bite and they gave him antibiotics - I don't know what that is supposed to accomplish but just mentioning it FYI. Here is a link to WebMD, it has a lot more medical information: [link to firstaid.webmd.com] |

What has worked for me is a poultice made from cayenne pepper and alcohol. Take about 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne and moisten with a few drops of alcohol until it makes a paste. Apply to area after a cleansing with alcohol, secure poultice with a large bandaid. Replace twice daily until all swelling subsides. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 12731595 United States 03/18/2012 06:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Been bit by a brown recluse 3 times. If the bite starts turning a blueberry color or any red streaks get to the Docs ASAP. It can be life threatening if not treated. The last bite I got grew 3 X in size and by the time I got to the hospitol the red streaks had gone from my wrist to my shoulder in less than 30 minutes. Took about two months for the bite to go away, two different antibotics. Doc was surprised I did not need to be treated by a wound specialist. I did sea salt soaks, applied sea salt and baking soda to the wound to draw out the staph. Benedryl helped loads too, take 50 mg every 4 hours. Keep the area elevated if you can and ice it. DO NOT use heat, it only spreads the infection/venom into your system. Rest too, the venom makes you feel like crap for a good month. I still deal with joint pain and recurring itchiness at the wound site 6 months later. Nice scar to boot. Take care! |
