Quoting: GreyMatter I usually don't even answer the door for people that peddle their religion. I actually use to get downright nasty at them. I believe in God and Jesus and doing right by others but I go about things in my own way. I have actually given thought to attending this gathering as I think it might be educaational and interesting. Should I stay or should I go?????? Any input would be appreciated. They wont let you take the bread and wine, But yes, Id accept their invitation, Just to check it out. |

I was doing an in home study of their booklet "What the Bible Really Says" (learned a lot) when this time of year rolled around. I got an invite, and decided to check it out. What I "witnessed" were roughly 300 people passing the bread and wine around and passing on partaking, as they only allow the "elect bretheren" (living members of the 144,000) to partake. Foolishness. |

Don't waste your time! Unless you like solemn ceremonies of bronze age nonsense. Furthermore, if you do go, they will ride you like a circus pony to get you even more involved in their crap. |

My friend have a very literal interpretation of the bible and I believe in reincarnation and the separation of the soul from the body.We agree to disagree on some things but have some very lively discussions at times.BTW never buy Christmas presents for these guys as they don't believe in Christmas at all.The last supper seems to be the only occasion that they have a real get together for. |

Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me" |

Anewagersnightmare User ID: 4478953 Canada 04/04/2012 11:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The JW translation of the bible (they're told to never question the accuracy of the translations done by a small group of men who also tell them to trust government and pay your taxes) the New World Translation has Yahushua reincarnating instead of ressurection. They've got small issues like sheol figured out but the important doctrines have been seriously corrupted on purpose. The low level members actually are genuinely good people. But higher up its definetly a cult, but maybe to experience it once wouldn't be so bad - but I agree with your stance, don't let them push anything on you. |

I'm thinking about going and bringing my own bread and wine just to see the reaction I get ;-) Now where can I find a good wine on this Island..... Farewell American Samoa, the "last stop of today and just a stones throw from tomorrow"and with that said and done I stood up, standing at the end of the day and walked boldly onward into tomorrow and to the given day of rest. |

I am not a JW but a friend of mine is and she invited me to go. I was impressed with their knowledge of the bible, its awesome. They pass around a goblet of wine but noone drinks from it. It just represents christs blood or something. I only ever went the once, its not for me as I am a different faith. Go it is interesting and they dont seem to hassle you to join. They only do this at easter. Its very special to them caz |
