Do you think it's a good thing to have drug-sniffing dogs in our public high schools? | |

We need to trust our kids, if police distrust them they will distrust police and for good reason. Tyranny is running rampant in the USA, and it will end in revolution, no doubt about that at all now. |

stillhere User ID: 3245452 United States 04/11/2012 08:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In the City where I live they have drug sniffing dogs. They don't take them into the schools. Drugs are easy to obtain from other kids at school here. When you are a parent and have to send your children to public schools (I do think homeschooling is better) you don't want to worry what kind of drugs they will have at their disposal. Think elementary schools, or middle school--not 18 year olds. It is a school, for the purpose of learning....you wouldn't want to have to "trust" your child--because they are a child, they make mistakes and do childish things, things that might kill them. By your logic (the one about trusting police)--no don't trust police, and should we just trust people to drive the speed limit in the school zones? Just trust people to always to the right thing? A child's thinking often goes to what they can get away with. My Daughter at college is going to a formal where they will be giving people a breathalyzer test when they arrive so kids don't show up drunk. This would have been a good idea at the high school level where they had to send kids to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. If you ever become a parent someday you will realize how strong the desire is to protect your children and keep them safe. "You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it... But even God cannot change the Truth.” Michael Levy |

Stop draining the fun out of childhood just to protect a few thousand lives, it is so fucking pathetic. |
Bowyn Aerrow User ID: 12560157 United States 04/11/2012 09:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Back in my day in school we heard rumors of 'junkies' people who used drugs - but they were all adult and in the bad side of town. Today all of my great nephews and nieces, in several cases not even out of grammar school know of drugs, know the name of drugs and in one school an 8 year old was already hooked on drugs and even trying to sell drugs to other students (Later found out that his parents were pretty much forcing him to make money by selling drugs at school). The world has changed, and not all for the better. While I dislike the idea of police and drug sniffing dogs having to police little children, the fact is they have to now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1535284 Tazer the ones that complain. This is one smart Aussie! They should also build detention centers in our schools as well, equipped with water-boarding rooms. That way if a child is accused of some sort of crime or disturbance, we can waterboard him into making a confession. Now no teachers will have to worry where that missing stapler went, little johnny just confessed to stealing it after a 2-hour water boarding session. God bless America |
