I went back a few pages....yes, Japan '11 was a Megaquake : what has happened a few pages ago...I wouldn't call those megaquakes. let's see: an earthquake swarm in CA? not a megaquake. the quakes of the coast of costa rica? not a megaquake. and, I wouldn't call the 8.0 in the P.I. a megaquake.

Yes, I posted this on April 10. Then the next day there was an 8.6. That is considered a mega quake.

For what I read somewhere is geologists consider anything over 7.0 a megaquake.

We should try to post a link on that sometime.

A 7.0 quake by itself on land can pack a pretty powerful punch. A 7.5 is much, much, much stronger. I would tend to agree with the geologist that quakes BIGGER than a 7.0 should be considered a megaquake due to the sheer energy produced by one larger than a 7.0.

I don't think it is necessarily a contradictions. I just see there list beginning at 8.0. It could be 7.0 as you say!

I'm not saying that God doesn't talk to you Once; I'm saying that your "fulfilled" stamp really hasn't been fulfilled.

oh, I'm also not saying that an 8.0 isn't a "megaquake;" by def. it's labled a such. however, a Japan 9.0 w/ death and destruction would be the conotative meaning of a MEGAQUAKE. California slipping into the sea would be a MEGAQUAKE! The New Madrid popping off and dumping The Great Lakes into the Gulf would be a MEGAQUAKE....

So...don't be in such a hurry to use your "Fulfilled" stamp.

The magnetosphere of the earth is taking a beating right now as pressure is extreme so thus a greater chance of large quakes.

Also, the busy side of the sun will be facing the earth soon. We will see what this does!
