Just throwing this out there....

Is it possible "something" was launched because they expected it to fail/shot-down, and then make the 'real' launch within the window???

I have no idea of that is plausible but it's the first thing I thought of.

mayyybe it wasn't trully a failure....maybe they were only testing that it works...not that it would get to space...maybe they already new it would get to space if it simply worked...or maybe they knew that it would hit the states....if it worked....well it lifted off....maybe thats all they needed it to do
