I simply used this example to prove he is knowledgable, unlike yourself. But, regardless your post was about BAD BEHAVIOR, which I just explained he doesn't have. If that were the case, YOU WOULD BE DIAGNOSED with autism. But,in reality just very low IQ.  Again, yeah, he's using an iPad, an iPad. Ever tried reading with him or teaching him basic things or just being a parent? So you basically are admitting that you just throw a shiny toy at your problems instead of getting to the root of them? People like you should have their children taken away. |

Revolting! My sister has severe autism. It's fairly obvious that she isn't normal. If it's the parents, by your logic I should be just like her...since we're only 14 months apart in age. However, I'm not. I'm able to speak and take care of myself. Autism has different severities. High functioning autism may impair social skills, but can have different effects such as higher capacity for knowledge. Lower functioning autism requires constant care. They are severely mentally disabled, and it seems that there is no cure. This is subject very dear and personal to me. I grew up without anybody to relate to. My sister was right there with me but I've never been able to hold a conversation with her. All I can do is give her my love, and that works for me. Most parents of normal kids leave the educating of their children entirely in the hands of their teachers, blaming the school system for not teaching their kids things like manners and rational thinking. autism is real and most likely the first steps in the next evolution of humanity - autistic people are wired differently in their brains and I belive that it is mostly caused by poisons in our environment, the prevalence of which are so widespread that it is impossible to be unaffected by things such as micro plastic particles and heavy metals. |

It seems that each year (or more often), some sort of new study adds, shifts, or refutes certain aspects of the previous definition of "autism." Without making light of mental health, at this point there seems to be different Packaged versions of autism...(ahem) sort of like Android versions. I have Android 2.0, you have Android 4.0, but he has Android 4.1, with multitasking! Be it as it may, I think that the word AUTISM, when used as an umbrella for, it seems, 32 flavors of "somewhat different", or I pray--mentally peculiar, makes diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis challenging. Case and point, a child's autism as defined in Autism version 2.3 in the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) might not even really be autism after all, when compared with Autism version 4.1 in tomorrow's PDR. Hence why I advocate that the term autism be muted...sort of like Women's Hysteria in the 1950s. (ladies!) I'd much rather have the doctor NOT come to any convenient Psycho-Somatic conclusions related to a young patient's mental health, and instead run additional tests, and help parents understand more aspects of that child's unique traits, and their respective probable solutions. My two cents.  |
