I just gleaned some interesting information from another GLP thread that is linked below:

Thread: SIERRA FIREBALL DECODED: - Energy is estimated at a whopping 3.8 kilotons of TNT - Energy source triangulated

Apparently, scientists were able to find out which monitoring stations had received the greatest infrasound signals and then triangulated the location of the breakup of the minivan-zizd meteor that exploded over the Sierra Nevada mountains yesterday.

The source of the 3.8 kilotons of energy that were released with the disintegration of the bolide was tracked to a position of 37.6N, 120.5W.

If you look at where the bolide is indicated to be on the map that is at the following link, it is clear that the bollide broke up at a fairly low altitude and in a position that is not very far from Yosemite.

There is definitely more to this story.

I believe OP is on the eastern side of the Sierras and this is where the "sulphur spill" occurred and the activity is taking place. Someone correct me if I am wrong. However, there is also a thread about alot of aircraft activity on the western side.
