556 and .223 are the same thing...... noob mistake
Buy a shotgun
Quoting: Kn0ck0ut 5.56 and .223 Remington are not the same. Wannabe mistake. They have slightly different specs. .223 Remington is the sporting round. 5.56x45mm is the NATO designation of a similar round. GKBSFIM: Get Knowledge Before Sticking Foot In Mouth 5.56 data: [ link to en.wikipedia.org] .223 Remington data: [ link to en.wikipedia.org] You can redeem yourself by telling us the differences. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14900286 This really shouldn't be an issue almost all ARs in the $600-$700 range accept both Quoting: Kayak Pulling Kayak Definately not an "issue". Just hate people that spout off stuff thats not true. I've run both through both, if you know what I mean and never had any pressure problems. I'm a technical reloader and I can read pressure with the best of them. Frankly, I've never found there to be ANY difference in shooting. Theoretically there should be a slight pressure difference when putting the longer case in the shorter chamber, but, I've never seen it. Just don't try to convince me "they are the same". I had a guy try to tell me a 30-06 Springfield and a .308 Winchester were the same. ...and he was VERY sure of himself. People that don't pay attention and don't listen to experience will eventually blow themselves up. I just don't want to be the guy thats picking pieces of his gun out of my scalp!
