Yes, I am well aware of that. This was a push for many years and one that it was attempted on was my grandmother. This has been an agenda goal for years. Like so many others that happen on a daily basis anymore, this is not a surprise. Baby steps have turned to strides, and now we are seeing leaps.

I could not care less who gets elected. After all who ever gets to be president is a mere puppet of those who are truly in power. See it as a global Broadway play in which one actor gets more lines to speak and playtime than the other.

And we, the audience, watch and applaud or boo them, than go home and discuss, till the next play is staged and everything starts all over again.

Marriage has its foundation in the fact of the Creator God who ordained man and woman, each uniquely created and equipped for relationship, to the end that they would bear fruit. Children are only and always born of a man and a woman; sexuality and our understanding of marriage are bound-up in this unchanging fact.

As such, Marriage is, historically, wholly a religious and spiritual construct understood through God’s revealed order in nature and in the Hebrew/Christian scriptures. People ask, “What damage does it do to hetero marriage if gays are allowed to marry?” This question reveals a deep naïveté. If marriage can be redefined at the whims of man then, ultimately, it means nothing. If marriage can be “whatever we imagine it to be,” then any claim upon it is just as equal, just as valid as any other, even one which denies it altogether.

When the Federal Government decides it will define/redefine Marriage, it is now operating in the realm of the Religious. There is great danger here; Civil Government operates from a position of power, force, and coercion. Once they have set forth their dogma and decree, the churches, religious institutions, and anyone who refuses to recognize and abide by the State’s “holy writ” are now enemies of the State. Over time, great damage is done to the redemptive, renewing, saving message of the Gospel, and the church becomes nothing more than a ward and agent of the State. Sound extreme? History bears it out. Just look at Europe.

The federal government has no business at all in being involved with marriage. It is not in the Constitution. It doesn't matter what the hell Obama thinks.

According to the 10th amendment, it is unconstitutional for the government to make any laws regarding marriage. So whatever Obama says about the issue, or anyone in the federal government, is irrelevant.

State legislatures are behind the populace in many of those states and beholden to special interest groups. Most people don't want government telling what they can and can't do, and something this basic goes to the heart of the issue. Most people, even Conservatives know people, have friends and family who are gay and even if they don't totally approve of what they are about, still want their friends and family to have the same freedoms as everyone else.

This is a winning issue for the Dems.


Your pooper, your choice. Do what you want with it or don't do anything with it. It's a free (and now freer) country because issues like this are finally openly addressing this issue.

While everybody's overlooking the facts, gay marriage or whatever is not and will never be a presidential decision.
This has always been a state level matter.

Two consensual adults choosing to fuck is a far cry from a pedophile forcing sex on a child... or forcing sex on an animal. Complete stupid ass slippery slope argument.

Everybody has the right to support what they want.

I do think the federal government should stay out of bedrooms and let the states deal with it. You want a same sex partner? Go to a state that supports it.

Obama certainly lost the religious vote. Muslims as well....

This won't bid well for him in the coming election.

What's funny is that hardcore Democrats in California voted down gay marriage in California.

By the way, not all gays are liberal. Some are actually conservatives that do not flaunt it in public.

Just Google gay conservative. They are more about smaller gov't, more personal freedom, etc much like people on GLP.
