Venus, 4 points of light, looks like a big cross in the sky.

I don't have the best equipment to take a pic at night, just a shitty cellphone cam. I can describe it to you, and even draw you a picture. I was hoping for other people in the area to go look and see if they see the same thing though.

With venus being the asterisk in the middle. Like I said, probably just some cool atmospheric conditions that make it appear that way, but wow it doesn't look like it did anytime in the last 2 or 3 months I've been watching it.

I see it. It's bright as fuck.

The vertical lines in my pic above should be in the middle, spacing got deleted.

I attempted to take a pic, sorry, cellphone just ain't cutting it. I can't even see it through the view finder, but its still very much apparent. It's kind of like some kind of lens flare, but its happening in front of my eyes.

Are you also seeing the 4 lines of light coming off of it? Basically like a compass, point North, South, East and West? Or is that just us here?

I see 4 points, not so much further than a half inch to my eye. Still bright for a planet.

Yeah but I didn't want this thread to take that religious direction. I simply wanted to report, as an amateur astronomer, what I am seeing with my own eyes. And then asked 2 other people here to confirm what I saw.

Venus was quite unusual tonight indeed.
I'm on the west coast beaches of Florida and what I saw through my Meade ETX-60 telescope tonight is bothersome.

Yes, I've been seeing this for over a year now. Venus will play a role in the coming months. Perhaps just to give a show. Perhaps more.

ok I live in southern michigan just south of ann arbor sighting was looking west up in sky. I seen the crazy bright light like changing colors. Then 2 orange lighted crafts blinking as in response to each other while hovering in one spot then taking off in different directions one right over me. to high to dark for good view of it over me. made noise not a weird sound either kinda like a constant loud wooshing

I forgot to mention. The Bible does mention signs and wonders in the sky. I suspect the person who watches the stars will have a banner year.

I'm west of Ann Arbor, didn't see what you saw. But Venus was very bright, and seemed to throw off this cross shape, 4 points going in North, South, East, West. Almost like what you would see in lense flare on a camera, but it wasn't that.

There was also other strange lights that were all hovering at one point 2 sets of blinking white lights that followed each other perfectly, each set of 2 going different directions in perfect formation after hovering. One red light hovered then left. the two orange blinking ones the blinked communication I already mentioned in previous post where one flew right over me slowly afterwards. Then the really bright constant light u say is Venus I don't know cuz that was really weird,it was like changing blue orangish white in the points almost looked to close like to bright in out atmosphere so wierd!!!!!

I'm in southern Ontario... my scope is pretty old and not the best of quality but it does work :) I was viewing Venus (least what I thought was Venus) earlier this evening, and I would describe what I saw exactly the way you did.... a cross shape... just like a lens flare.
