Quoting: AtheistRepublican Taxation at 75%? Thats just crazy! 75%? Seriously? Anonymous Coward User ID: 16122250 Poland 05/15/2012 07:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | PARIS -(Dow Jones)- A majority of French voters support a proposal from the Socialist Party's presidential candidate Francois Hollande to impose a 75% tax on the income of people earning more than EUR1 million a year, a poll by Ipsos showed Monday. About 57% of French voters said they support the tax rate because "it will contribute to more social justice," Ipsos found, while 42% of voters oppose the tax "because it will encourage the richest to leave France." [link to www.nasdaq.com] That's nice...except for one little thing. People who earn over $1 million a year have a lot of mobility. That means they leave, and the government ends up collecting less rather than more. The ones who stay find the loopholes they need to reduce their taxes. Bottom line almost no one who earns over $1 million will pay the tax. True, but they would also have less people to take care of as well. The millionaires don't need support. They are the one's paying for everyone else. |

The banking system has no bearing upon greedy governments who spew spread the wealth, and you can be darn sure that most of the “tax” money collected will not spread much beyond the government bureaucrats and their families. Further, he must also pay for social security and Medicare, sales tax and other taxes and regardless of how he earned his money it was honestly and with hard work. You can add sob stories however do you believe that all citizens should have an opportunity to earn their own money instead of standing there with their hands out expectantly. |
