Rock hasn't died, it's just fallen out of the mainstream, and that's fine. Mainstream rock sucks. I listen to everything from the Beatles and Sabbath to Beck and Slipknot. Rock is still there, believe me.

It ain't dead sonny! It's just that there's a shortage of real rock 'n rollers. Politically correct little fucks playing 'music' for little girls is what it's all about now. But as the poster somewhere above rightly said...while Angus Young breathes, Rock 'n Roll lives.
Fuck all this pussy shit. We still have the tunes! Led Zep and so many more will live while real people still exist!

money is the answer its a bit like the greedy money makers changed the game wanted to launch a new thing
trashed the old and put all their priase in shit
that was a abubble of nothing
now no real critics just creeps selling things to make money
by praising anything
no incentive
invented fashion dictates
tell everyone they can be a star
no talents encouraged no talent needed just funny money

actually you might have a point on the money thing...

r&r might have died when we started downloading mp3s

now don't get me wrong, i equate downloading a mp3 to taping a song off the radio or lending your buddy a tape... but realistically it took a HUGE gouge out of the labels, and subsequently the producers, promoters and studios. i am all for the sharing of music but if you dont have the money grubbing bastards at the top exploiting the bands, you will never hear them. at least never hear them en masse.

there are a lot of GREAT indy and small time acts out there, and i fully support the acts i am fans of when they tour by buying tickets. but the money machine that was fueled by buying records is dead, and we will just have to wait for the new business model to fully rise out of the ashes before we experience a renaissance.

Eh I used to think it comes in cycles too. But really, 20+ years since the early 90's? Somethings up, great music is dead, lets face the facts.

A Long, long time ago....

if I can still remember...

how that music used to make me smile...

and I knew if I had my chance, I could make those people dance

and maybe they'd be happy for a while....

true there are many talented people, i may have miswrote-
but they are not interested in talent
tey are only interested in very safe bets
and they end up promoting crpa because it sells
an uneducated public can not discern something good they have never been given on the menu
the new kids cannot be seen to like something they have been told is uncool

its all about manipluation
and fashions
which would be ok
but the menu now is off

Why do you need new bands? Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact.
