Experts agree that BlackLight's "Hydrino theory" represents a fundamental breakthrough in clean energy technology. BlackLight Power, Inc. (BLP) today announced a major breakthrough in clean energy technology, which experts agree holds tremendous promise for a wide range of commercial applications. The announcement comes on the heels of BlackLight's recent completion of a $5 million round of financing to support commercial development of its new process for producing affordable, reliable energy from water vapor. [link to www.marketwatch.com] I find it astonishing that a mainstream news website is now reporting a new breakthrough energy technology. 2012 is really happening! true lies |

Just like when they created an alternate fuel source to replace oil applications such as Gasoline. It was suppose to be a salt water engine that makes the salt combustible and reliable clean energy. Plus not to mention we have about 97% salt water on this planet. |

This one is no different. It's just a ploy to keep peoples hopes up and steal their money while they are still filling the tanks of their gasgusslers. Quoting: Vierkantebroek this is era pf peak oil so these types of discoveries have to be announced. global oil supplies are in severe decline despite all the claims. nobody have verified oil fields of saudi arabia, iran etc. nothing can replace crude oil, nothing. even coal is not perfect anwer because you have to burn huge quantities of coal to produce energy nuclear power is 10-100 times costly than crude oil..so it will not be economical start planning your future |

It is the mechanism on the market know as competitive deselection which in short states that the only decision factor on the market is maximization of difference between money input and output. Scarce energy source - huge money input to the companies. |

If you responded to it, assuming that it was true, that a "Mainstream News Site Announces Energy Breakthrough" then you've failed the test. In case you're confused, and I assume if you believed this you are frequently confused, this was not a bit of news, but a "Press Release". Websites like Market Watch (and ADVFN and a million others) publish corporate press releases without in fact testing that they are true. For extremely obvious reasons. To protect themselves they clearly label them as "Press Release". So how'd you do? Did you pass or fail? |

And the released energy is harnessed into electrical energy. do i have this correct? Reminds me of Kent talking about this many years ago, why are trying so hard to convert things into hydrogen when water is full of it already. [link to www.cyberspaceorbit.com] It takes energy to turn water into hydrogen and oxygen. So theoretically we could have solar power plants that partly powered the electric grid, and stored energy in the form of hydrogen, to be transported. (gravity storage systems are the most efficient, safe, clean, etc for storing power. Almost 1-- percent efficiency) However, its REALLY dangerous and uneconomical to transport hydrogen. That's the problem. It blows up. That's it. So cars can't really run on water, or hydrogen. Theoretically, all these claims about guys running cars on water... what they are claiming is that they did something to the water to make it burnable. Basically turning water into water-gasoline. Why is this useful? Because its easy to transport. However, it still takes energy to change the water into water-gasoline. You don't just magically get all this energy out of water. But the conversion process could happen at solar power plants. There's another theory going around for using water. Catalyst theory. Basically there's LENR (colf fusion) claiming they use a catalyst to get some kind of energy from water. And then other people claiming if they could find the right catalyst and electrical resonance, then it actually takes less energy for hydrolysis than you get back. I think the Catalyst theories hold a lot of promise as well. Catalysts are awesome. We use them in almost all useful chemical reactions anyway. A catalyst is something that makes a reaction occur or occur better, without any detectable change to the catalyst. |

Hydrogen and Oxygen don't only exist in water, but i guess the polar ice caps aren't really need anyways. might as well melt em, split up the water to keep the ocean water levels low, use sea salt in the foods, and see how long that will sustain us. doomed.... |

A 100 W unit is planned for completion by the end of 2012, and a 1.5 kiloWatt (kW) pilot unit that can serve the residential power market, as an initial target commercial application, is expected to be operational by 2013.
