Im from there. I was born in Kharkov and lived there til i was about nine. All of my family, and all of my friends and neighbours spoke Russian. There were a few exceptions you would run into daily though. The eastern side of the country is predominately russian speaking.

Also, the ultra nationalist fucks that are so against it, can suck it. If you know one language, you can understand the other...
