Can a sinus infection spread to your eye?

Yes, it can. I had that happen to me a few years ago.

Go to your eye Dr., mine prescribed an antibiotic for me eye because it got really nasty.

You should get a water ozonizer, eat as much oregano spice you can handle, watch which food you eat on a regular basis caused or enhanced it .......
etc etc.

My wife has that in her eye last couple days really bad but I thinkits getting better today, Wet washcloth in Microwave, be careful hot as you can stand it some releif, it woorked for her, we cant afford docs>!

You can actually get cold sores in your eyes, ocular herpes. Rare, but will usually leav you blind if not treated. Look it up. Dont mess wth your eyes, I´d get them checked asap.

Bathing the eye with tepid normal saline or pre-boiled cooled water with a teaspoon of salt added to about 1/2 pint will clense it and maybe give some relief overnight ´till you get to see the quack. Conjunctivitis or other eye infections can be nasty though so sterilising the facecloth in the mirowave first is a good idea as well.

Experienced what appeared to be and eye infection. The eye it hurt like hell and looked like conjunctivitis but was not. It was a swelling and bursting of the vessels in the retina. Called a ubiquitous disease in the literature. Treatment is by eyeball injection of prednisone and oral prednisone. There are variations that require treatment with a psychotropic drug called scolapamine(sp?) which unlocks the locked iris.

Later turns out that ibuprofen works to reduce inflannation. Results were beautiful. Used it the last time it happened.

Well I am here to say, after seeing my ear, nose throat specialist, YES the sinus infection did spread to my eyes. The tear ducts are in close proximity to the affected sinus. Now a month of anti biotics. Plus sinus rinse four times a day...hope it works.

Don´t slack off on the treatments Flatbed. I knew a classmate in college who lost the sght in both eyes because he got a sinus infection that spread first to one eye then the other and didn´t get treatment in time.

Take this infection very seriously.

Nasty but not too serious and I´m glad you got it seen to quickly. Eyesight is one thing you can´t afford to mess about with.

Hopefully you will soon be on the mend but make sure you take the full course of anti-b´s or you could get a resistant re-infection.

get some colloidal silver in your eye do you know that in the hospital (at least here) they use this (still) to protect the eye of the newborns from infections?

I have had a similar problem of you just about 2 week ago, i used an antiobiotic (colbiocin) for 6 days but it was for some reason not working onc ei stopped to take it it went almost back as before, 3 day ago i received my colloidal silver device, i made some and then poured a part in the empty bottle and i used it in place of the antibiotic, i wont say the problem is completly gone but after just 2 days it´s much better than it was before after the antibiotic cure and at least i know it as no side effects and can use it without problems until this infection is gone, unfortunatly the PC monitor dont help our eyes, even the new LCD are not much better because most of them run at 60Hz (they flicker even if you dont see it) wich is worst than most of the old tube ones wich ran at 75 to 120Hz with a much mor estable image but with cathodic radiations..

I'm a stubborn person I think I have a sinus infection because i have all the symptoms. I started off with a cold and know my I is starting to get red. I have been trying to get a appointment with the doctor but no luck I even tried those small clinics no openings. My last option is the emergency room. but its hard to get a day to go.

My sinus infections always start out the same way OP. It's pink eye.

If you can't afford to see a doctor, but want/need an antibiotic - go to the pet store and get FishMox. It's Amoxicillin.

Whatever you do, don't get that oil of oregano anywhere near your eye!

Your eye is connected to your nasal cavity via tear ducts. So yeah, if you blow your nose hard enough, mucous can go into your eye to irritate it.

Use the nasal irrigation with saline 3x a day.

yes a sinus infection can cause infection in eye also..doc prescribed antibiotics and drops for eyes
