The only real INVESTORS in the capital markets are insurance companies, pension funds & some non-profit trusts..... everything & everyone else are speculators..... BTW, did ya know that ur city, county & state use theIR pension funds as collateral to float financing schemes? If the value of the collateral (pension fund shares & bonds) declines XXX percent, the borrower, per loan agreement must recapitalize the collateral (just like a margin call). Thus a stock or bond melt down would render many states & their political subdivisions insolvent, as recapitalizing the collateral would suck up most of, if not all of their liquid cash, secondly their flight to recapitalize would mean many of these entities would be forced to begin selling bonds & equities to raise cash, thirdly, once the process would begin, its like a magin call, they would be forced to keep selling in what would be deemed a deflationary asset price spiral.... fourthly, this scenario is the real reason the Fed & Treasury MUST protect the equities market.... the market can crash for a short period, BUT TPTB must maintain a certain stable price level to prevent margin calls on the collateral.... from all indications it seems that the SnP 500 must remain stabilized around 1320 plus or minus 10 - 20 pts..... JMO

Hopefully, based upon the above posting, you now understand why the Fed must slowly keep the bond bubble profitable...... however itz game over when 10 yr T approaches zero %.... which by most indicators isnt to far away.... itz the reason for Homeland Security & NDAA, etc.... namely when the pension funds blow up, the common sheeple arent going to rebell, it will be the pensioners & those promised a pension who lost their union & bureacratic pensions as most states, counties & cities are NOW at their respective states maximum constitutional tax limitations.... the bureacracy along with the unions will canabalize themselves if this plays out! This I believe will be the source of future unrest, the bureacracy fighting the bureacracy over broken pension promises! Get sum popcorn and watch the movie..... best thing is, if we dont have one of these defaulted pensions, we are just observers....lol!

So the bulls received a gift today with a counter-trend snap back short covering rally brought about by a jawboning WSJ Reporter & pure speculation that Spain can be saved.... this one day does not change the bear trend in play. Employment is actually below recession levels, global trade is exhausted, the fundamentals & technicals for equities really suck... the Fed is stuck & now painted in a corner with no legal means for further stimulus..... the U.S. debt limit also places a limitation on stimulus!
