In all honesty, its not a bad idea. Hopefully more ventures like this will come along.. or at least stir people to take action... maybe more people will go back to family farming.

You would be better to start with getting the city plan first to some degree and how it will be constructed and after that the lot scouting turns a little bit more easier and sensible as you wanted electricity, running water, internet connections to be there with the tents.

Don't get me wrong, I am not here to shun down to your project, just friendly advice to consider before getting a random lot and then people come down with their tents filled with excitement which without proper planning and base work will turn into desperation and well, most likely to end of the first so great idea.

This is due you'd want the electricity, water pipes etc be a quite near the lot you are planning on constructing on - and what size of a city and house sizes/placement (this specially for water and waste piping) in the area so the basic city plans would come very handy before even starting to scout - or variable sized plans.

Also electricity grid network inside the city how it should be and possible modular extensions to it (if wanting to cut down the basic electricity usage from the main feed network) solar/wind/your very own nuclear reactor or something similar could feed power there to lessen the need from the external energy grid.

Same with water supplies if wanting to use rain water for certain things that has been collected etc.

Also to add to the above house sizing, unless you are wanting to create a holiday cabin resort for 100 persons, would be a quite essential to plan first - extension if the idea gains popularity, their waste and water pipes, power usage and needs.

Just a few things to consider if you truly are going ahead with this project - Woodstocking in an empty lot in tents and mud blindly usually just doesn't quite cut it :)

Seen many construction awesomeness gone horribly wrong due lack of planning, resource management etc.

Other than that I wish you get your project sorted and if launched it would be fruitful in the sense of the project goal as marketed to the people.
