The God of the Old Testament was a hard-ass war god that wouldn't take any guff. He commanded people to kill their own CHILDREN if the kids dared to simply show disrespect. Striking people dead left and right, he also commanded his people to go around to neighboring cities and slaughter the men, women, children BABIES and even the animals. So that was more hardcore. With the 2nd God of Christianity, Jesus...he taught them to be pacifist, almost masochistic...a guy slaps you, turn and let him slap you some more, a guy wants your coat, strip down and give him your shirt as well, slaves, don't disobey your masters, just bend over and be a good slave, and be sure to pay your taxes to your oppressors. I started this threat because I was inspire by the Yoga threat , See my responses there. You are right it really refers to closed minded religious people. What I feel is that if you put together a random group of people that are passionate about religion and are the type that quote their books on every aspect of their life's. All they will do is fight and harvest negative feelings towards each other instead of trying to survive. |
