WTF? 65 Percent Of Americans Trust Obama Over Romney To Save Us From Aliens

Let's get real—everyone loves thinking about the possibility of an alien invasion and how humans would react to such a takeover (see: Independence Day, Men in Black, Predator, etc). In the case that aliens do arrive or otherwise reveal themselves on earth before election day, the good news is that the majority of Americans (65 percent of those polled) regard the incumbent president Barack Obama better-suited to deal with an alien takeover than Mitt Romney. The poll was conducted by National Geographic to promote the National Geographic Channel's new television series, "Chasing UFOs," which premiered yesterday.

Should we be worried about an attack from outer space? Although no open threat exists, the poll also revealed additional details about how people feel about what the White House knows versus what the public knows about an impending alien invasion:

About 79% of those surveyed think the government has kept information about UFOs a secret from the public, and 55% believe there are real-life Men in Black-style agents who threaten people who spot UFOs.

It's pretty entertaining to think about how Obama would handle an alien standoff. Would he use diplomatic means or bust out his bazooka? We're mostly just glad to have a competent president who could stand up against aliens.
