If you are dual national, and hold another country's passport you can still leave the country on that. You can never return to the USA without a US passport, but the US has no jurisdiction over passports issued by other countries.

You gotta first pay your back taxes so you can get a passport so you can exit, and be accepted by another country; you gotta be there to renounce which is done at a US consulate. The other country is under no obligation to take you in, so choose wisely, helps if you're educated and rich.

There's a whopping huge exit fee. You have to pay the US govt for the "privilege" of giving up your citizenship.

IOW unless you're really well off, you're fucked, slaves. Lifetime in the lockup, dreaming of the freedom you thought you had.

Unfortunately since America has a past reputation as being the country everyone wants to go to and not leave, land of freedom yada yada yada, I doubt Americans can claim refugee status anywhere in the world. So fucked.

Newsmax is reporting that the passport revocation section was removed from the final bill before it was passed. Apparently, this was accomplished by Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner.
I looked up the final text for MAP-21 and the section was not there.
