What is Liberty?~Jesus Came to Set the Captives Free
It's Independence Day--Enjoy it!

Other than feeding frenzies, fireworks and frolicking fun and..............................beer, can you tell me why we have Independence Day? Seriously.

What does independence mean?

The Founding Fathers, in the Declaration of Independence, state that all men “are endowed by their Creator with
certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

What is Liberty?

One definition for liberty is: "The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life."

What is oppression?

One definition of oppression is : "the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc."

Tell me, which are you experiencing?

Liberty or oppression?

Freedom can only come by connecting to something infinite, divine and beyond us.

True freedom is when you are free of outside influences and pressures--and this can only be found when you have a meaningful relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Through this relationship you learn to drop the "I" and become more aware of something other than yourself.
The yoke of bondage is broken.

Jesus came to the set the captives free.


(Isaiah 61:1-2 NIV)
"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn."

Better get a copy of The Humanist Tradition in the West and read it! In it you will discover much truth as to what "god" the founder's of this nation worshipped and served! They were liberal humanists and deists. Some of them admired Jesus for who he was, but to them he was just another man, not the divine Christ!

I'll take the Founding Fathers versions and intents of LIBERTY and FREEDOM ANYDAY over some secondhand reinterpretation of what the Bullshit authors came up with AFTER they were LONG GONE.
