For example garlic. If I eat garlic then the sweat on my forhead or temples will smell funny. Avoid the garlic! And you'll have to change your diet. Some people do seem to have smelly scalp oil I have noticed, men anyway. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2145552 Canada 07/05/2012 02:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My face has started to smell like feet/cheese/yeast. I wash very well every day, but that doesn't seem to stop my sebaceous glands from producing oil that smells horrible. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18770928 If I can smell it, I know other people can... Has anyone had this problem before? Tea trea oil helps a little bit, but not much. From searching the internet I can only find the following cures: -Stop eating gluten, sugars, bread. -Accutane (shrinks pores & stops them from producing oil, bad side effects) -Milk Thistle for your liver to better filter toxins instead of excreting them through the skin. Changing my diet will be hard, and is one of my last options. Accutane is what the dermotoligst always tell me for any of my problems, and I hear it has bad side effects. I will be buying some Milk Thistle soon. I've also thought of maybe taking a pro-biotic because I remember this all starting when I was taking lots and lots of anti-biotics. If anyone has dealt with this unpleasant issue before, please feel free to spread some knowledge. Thanks Silicic Acid for your face will do it wonders... [link to duckduckgo.com] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18770928 United States 07/05/2012 03:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's definitely my face smelling... I smell my finger after wiping oil off my face; it's a strong foul smell. I also have a problem with all of the pores and hair follicles on my head (face, and scalp). Lots of small pimples everywhere that don't go away unless I push out what appears to be dried, smelly, yellow sebum. It's stuck to the hair follicle at the bottom. I put tea tree oil in my hair today and had tons of black things all over my hands after massaging my scalp. I'm just a big mess :/ Something is very wrong with my skin, and maybe immune system? Thank you for the suggestions and replys! It was more than I expected. Diet seems the be the only way out; I guess I'm gonna have to suck it up and start eating better. |

I have hundreds of unexplainable pictures from the lesions on my head that fit the "morgellon" description. The high quality macro pictures i have are frightening. I have 2-3 lesions/big bumps underneath the skin on my scalp that have been there for 4 years and can't get any kind of doctor to fix it. There is always crusty balls and sometimes squishy balls of yellow and white stuff coming out of my scalp, and random boils that pop up too. I live in a hot humid environment which is NOT ideal for this condition. Hair loss is becoming a problem as well due to wanting this stuff OUT of me. I went to a dermatologist with all my pictures printed out and he laughed his ass off and said its folliculitus and that I need acutane. That still doesn't explain all the bugs and multiple colored fibers I pick from these bumps on my scalp. I will look up tonsil stones. But an FYI, I shower and scrub my face with a wash cloth and soap. After a few days of letting the wash cloth dry, there is a yellow residue on it that smells horrible as well. The tips of the wash cloth have even turned black when left out for a long time. Same sort of smell that I smell on my fingers when wiping my face or popping all the pimples. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 18770928 United States 07/05/2012 04:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have. 1st time because I thought I had lice. They said I had seborrheic dermatitis. None of the treatments worked. Although treatment for lice and scabies did stop it for a month, but then it comes right back. 2nd time was what I just wrote about in my last post. He said I had folliculitis and I needed acutane so my pores can shrink and stop producing oil. People are winning millions of dollars in court right now suing over this drug due to side effects, so I don't really want to touch it. Smoking? Yes.... Marijuana daily for 5 years. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 17338098 United States 07/05/2012 05:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have cystic acne and have my entire adult life. I know the smell you are talking about. The smell of what is clogging my pores and fills the cysts is stomach turning. I seriously tried so many OTC products with little to no help. I have seen 3 dermatologist. I can tell you what they told me. First they wanted me to take accutane. I thought about it but decided I didn't want to take that risk. There are several antibiotics that can get it under control (i know some people are against antibiotics but I really have no choice when it gets really bad). Tetracycline, Doxycycline and Minocycline (spelling might not be correct) are the names of the 3 most popular. None of those worked for me. The antibiotic that works for me is KFlex...in fact I am on a 2 week dose of it right now for this very reason. Unfortunately a few times a year I have this issue on areas other than my face and have to use an antibiotic to prevent infections because it gets so bad. There are 2 other prescription products that I have been using for about 8 months now....they really do work. The first is Cleocyn-T and the other is Retin-A. They are both topical so that was good because I hate having to deal with side effects. It takes awhile for them to work...about 8 weeks...but they do work. You can only use it on your face and neck...which it has helped my problem immensely. Its even massively reduced my acne scars. If you have the problem on other areas of your body though it doesn't help it. That is why I have to take antibiotics occasionally still. Also, there is an OTC product by OLAY called regenerating serum. It is expensive but it has worked great for me. My doctor said to use either Nivea or Eucerin for moisturizer. I only use Ivory soap on my face. I mix a little of the Olay with a little Nivea lotion and use that on my face to moisturize. You probably already know this but drink A LOT of water. Sorry for the long post...I have dealt with this for about 20 years and finally just 8 months ago found the things that work for my skin. |
