In the movie "Dukes Of Hazzard" starring Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, and Jessica Simpson, near the start of the movie Bo Duke is shown getting into his car, the General Lee. But he got in by opening the door instead of jumping through the window. WHY???

After the first car chase, Bo crashed the General Lee between two earthmoving machines. Both Bo and Luke tried to open the doors of the car but were unable to due to the machines right next to the doors. Then they climbed out the windows. WHY did they try to open the doors??? Shouldn't they have just straight away climbed out the windows?????
