OMFG!

They said very little other than it was an x class and should hit in 1-3 days with the most likely result of northern lights and some radio disruption.

Read up on the Carrington event if i recall it came in 2 waves the first clearing the way for the more powerful second wave.

But i could be wrong.There are plenty of solar experts on this site,that i am sure will correct if i am wrong.

X-Class Solar Flare Causes Radio Outages

Thursday's flare has already caused what NOAA classifies as an R3 radio blackout, meaning GPS satellite signals "degraded for about an hour" and there was a "wide area blackout of high frequency radio communication" on Earth.

So far this is what happened.

Finally, solar protons accelerated by the blast are swarming around Earth. The radiation storm, in progress, ranks "S1" on NOAA space weather scales, which means it poses no serious threat to satellites or astronauts. This could change if the storm continues to intensify. Stay tuned.

The X5 that made a "glancing blow" was followed by the Japanese earthquake/tsunami. This one, though only 1.4, is a hit, palpable hit.
