I have wondered the very same.
I was having a discussion the other day with a friend of mine as we were watching a 'ghost hunting' show.
There was a few particular moments when I knew that they were in fact making contact, due to the way my body reacts.
The EVPs were a bit clearer for me, and I found they were often mistranslated.
What I noticed was this feeling of being 'stuck'. I said to my friend,
"Perhaps that is Hell, to be stuck in a building in which you died.".
There was a particular scene where an elevator opened and one of the hunters walked in.
He asked, "why did you open the elevator doors?"
And I heard
"It's all I see..." However, it was not translated that way by the TV show.
To be 'stuck' in such, would be Hell indeed. Limbo at least.
