That is how I reach out. If I am lonely. I call 'it' to me plenty. And it does not always answer. Halftime maybe. I find this confusing, as I always 'pick up the phone' when it 'rings'. Pi, brought up something similar yesterday.  yes it got your attention risk assessment step by step natural for all concerned  To me...it feels like a type of punishment or penance for doing something...'not properly'. It causes me to go back and examine my steps, for 'misstep'. The very thing I am doing at this very moment. The 'previous connection' I remember, not being as strong or as fast...as it once was.
