What I expected was for TEPCO and the Japanese government to quit dragging their arses and get the job done. As I said earlier -at the very minimum- there should have been plastic covers installed over all the damaged reactor buildings.

This should have been done as soon as the salt water spray cooling was finished in order to minimize the amount of airborne radioactive particulate being produced.

And on that note, where did all those thousands of tons of radioactive sodium particulates that were produced during the spraying process end up at anyway? A good portion of that went airborne as well I suspect..

And I will add that the Russians at least had the common sense to realize that radioactive dust is the real issue with a reactor incident. And in the case of Chernobyl took immediate steps to enclose and minimize this risk to the best of their ability.

Japan has sat and watched the nice ocean breeze blow through theirs..
