The Supreme Court has ruled that not only are firearms protected under the 2nd amendment, so is the ammunition necessary for them to function properly. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17478519 I'm going to have to correct myself: that was an appellate court ruling, not a Supreme Court ruling. It still stands, however, until such time as the Supreme Court decides to hear the issue. Given that the Supreme Court has recently ruled that firearms can be maintained for the defense of the home, the federal appeals court likely made the correct logical deduction that an ammunition ban would very likely be found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court as well. |

Many people are calling for much more stringent gun control. Which is a step in the right direction, I suppose, but as at least one commentator has noted, more control now wouldn’t do much to rein in the tens of thousands of illegal guns out there, many of which are in Canada. And then there are the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of so-called legal guns . . . Indeed, trying to control the numbers of guns out there would be like trying to control the common cold virus. BUT, our nations can control one thing, which would in turn make most of the guns out there useless: we can stop the production of ammunition. We can ban bullets. We can ban gun powder. Come on... There are already trillions for round privately owned. Do you think people use up their ammo every day? Lol |

And then we have "Underground" powder labs crop up across the land, more numerous then meth labs. You "Gun Banners" crack me up. You actually think that a law banning something makes it go away. Hasn't worked with drugs for shit, now has it? You seem to think that the receipe for gun powder is so arcane and complicated that if a company does not make it, surely the individual is too stupid to try it. (hint its nitric acid and cellulose to make nitro-cellulose) Guns are also simple to make for yourself out of parts from home depot: [link to thehomegunsmith.com] |
