When a grocery store is robbed, the security camera footage is released the next day to the press.

While such theaters are equipped with cameras, many do not record or even turned on. 50-50 chance footage exists.

I have been more or less keeping track of a lot of the threads that have popped up here in the past few days regarding James Holmes and the shooting.

Was he positively I.D.' as the shooter inside the theater? I know he was spotted buying a ticket and sitting in the front row and of course out in the parking lot after the fact.

I want to know if anyone could say with certainty that he was the one wearing all the gear and doing the shooting? Maybe I missed it?

They are in the same place as the black boxes from the 9/11 planes.

They do have those cameras on, more to protect themselves then anything else. There are cameras all over the parking lot. They could have recorded his comings and goings through the exit door when he supposedly went out to get weapons, etc.

Or is this a shopping mall with no cameras?

Why the witnesses never mentioned the VERY IMPORTANT "detail" that the "suspect" had BRIGHT ORANGE/RED HAIR in any of their interviews?

If you know for a fact those cameras were not just on but recording, you should take your evidence to the police (or better yet, post the footage here!). How do you know this fact (that the cameras were on), by the way? What is your source?

Just because you see a camera does not mean its working, unless of course your source says so.

I'm willing to bet that their answer will be - just like often happens in police beating cases - that "we don't know what happened, but all of our recording devices all failed at the same time that evening, and we have no record at all of the night's events".

PS - the government already have taken all recordings. Just like they did with all of the businesses surrounding the Pentagon on 9/11.

I was thinking about this today. Also, why haven't we heard any calls made to 911? I don't mean the police audio, I mean the calls that were made to 911 from people who were there. Every time something major happens it seems they release at least partial 911 calls, even if it's just someone saying "help, I think someone is shooting in the theater." Unless I have completely missed them, there haven't been any released but the 911 audio was online really quick.

I am from Aurora and to be honest the police could be at the theater in seconds... One police station in mall and the police headquarters are only across the street. Dumb place to do the shooting at, right?

However, I think that it is very suspicious that there were no security guards... as it was a known "hoodlum area". My parents made my siblings and I travel 15 minutes away to another theater because Century 16 was always known as shady. I am curious as to why He told the police that he had booby trapped his apartment. As to why the courts banned us. And why James is saying He doesn't remember anything.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's wondering about those security videos and 911 calls! (My teenage children think I'm crazy.)I guess it's a possibility that they are saving those for the "trial", but then they would have said something about that. THE PRESS HAS NOT ASKED THE QUESTION.

Ok so I heard some people saying that there was some shooting there a few years back. You would think if they didn't have cameras they surely would have gotten them installed a few years ago after that shooting. There is no way there is no surveillance. In this recent shooting Think about it they, meaning the cops and rescue, were by JCPenneys by the open door, talked about in original police communication radio, then they had cops stage in Dillard's lot the old sports authority lot, not to mention any surrounding store or even traffic cams. You can't seriously tell me that there is no surveillance from anywhere. Even if the theater didn't have surveillance there is surrounding stores.

Completely agree. If he was not in that que buying those tickets he could not have possibly done this. Simply because the killer came through the exit door. Those doors can usually only be opened from inside.

You can listen to the police audio from a lot of the event on YouTube... it contains many contradictions to the official story: such as, a policeman says very clearly to get a car over to where he is, because he has a victim who is "eviscerated", ie, cut up with a knife. He also states that a suspect was seen fleeing, wearing a blue shirt and carrying a back pack. Also, a child had been badly hurt by the rear door of the theater. There were several other REALLY TROUBLING things, like ambulances idling 5 minutes away who'd been notified, but did not go to the scene. At one point, the police are screaming "WHERE ARE THE AMBULANCES?" The medics dragged their feet big time. The tape is worth listening to, but it will make you cry, or make you very angry. Either way, Holmes was not alone that night.

And he does not go to trial until after the election.
