If that had come through one of the worm holes NASA has admitted we have with the sun then it wouldnt have tripped all the mains. it would have burnt them to piles of molten metal.
So having to go through a long procedure to get power back up is not a big crisis. They need to replace their junk equipment is all.

The junky crap can be affected by not much at all. err... not really.. poducing 200,000 megawatts with junky equipment is not possible. the equipments is good and well maintained. some of the biggest power stations are here.
