Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
I am Buddhist and I sometimes astral project. At he time of writing this post I closed my eyes and concentrated on clearing my mind. After doing this for 10 min. (Could be less or more depending on skill level) I could hear a "base" frequency which was around me. I then could hear a a different frequency in the kitchen next to the room I was in. I couldn't hear this frequency before my meditation. Turns out it was the refrigerator. Now I understand how DareDevil sees lol. Hope this helps.

You have a condition called tinnitus. End of story.

Nice remote diagnosis!

I had my hearing checked. I was told I do not have tinnitus.
Yet the high frequency sounds have been there all along, and go through interesting changes. After awhile, I figured out that they were matching solfeggio frequencies. But then it got even higher. And instead of coming, arriving in my ear, and staying for a few moments, then departing, the sound(s) appear to now always be there, but I have to attend to notice more. Still get moments where the sound rises up to be really heard though. Curious stuff. Never been in any way bothersome or distressful. Always rather pleasant.

Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
I live in Colorado on the Western Slope, at 7700 feet elevation. I've had tinnitus off and on most of my life, and this is NOT that!

I think I've had this sound around for a while, but over the past month or so (Jan/Feb 2015) it's gotten much louder and persistent. I started noticing it a couple months ago when I went to bed; I thought it was "feedback" from being in front of the computer so much and thought little more of it.

A few weeks ago I began noticing it getting louder at night, and I asked my counselor if he'd noticed anything or heard anything from anyone about a similar experience, but he hadn't and didn't hear it himself. Then, over the past week, it's gotten even more persistent.

It's gotten so prevalent, that at night, if I focus on it, I can pick out four (and maybe a fifth) distinct frequencies ringing simultaneously! There's a very sharp, steady "cord"
out-in-front, so to speak, that gets so loud now at times it's thoroughly distracting. Then there's two just below it that are intense, if not a little "fuzzy", and a fourth that's like background static. They are very distinct and are all the same ... I don't know musical lingo, the same frequency, or note or whatever, but distinguishable from each other.

Has anyone been able to pick the frequency they hear apart like this??

What I proposed to my counselor, which is absurd, I know, is that I'm hearing my brain grow... I'm in my early 50s and am taking a course in electronic engineering, which involves a tremendous amount of math. I love math and am good at it, but I've been learning a WHOLE lot of stuff I never knew, and I know from research I've done on neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to grow new neurons and reshape itself) that learning new things causes new neuronal growth. Could I be hearing that process taking place somehow??

I don't know, but at this point, the frequencies have become so prevalent that, if it is indeed brain growth, then my brains should be oozing out my ears any day now!!

wtf

Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
Also, I've been playing around today with sound/frequency generators, and I've noticed that a tone of 2500 to 3000 Hz momentarily "cancels out" parts of what I'm hearing in my head. The more "fuzzy" background tone is still there, but the loud one "in front" subsides for a bit. I plan to experiment with this some more to see if I can narrow down the exact frequency I'm constantly hearing.

I hear also this hugh pitched tone. I can increase and decrease the volume of it at will. Sounds similiar after 20mg toke of 5-meo-n,n-dmt - when the buzz accelerares into the heights.

Sorry, I didn't know what I was doing there ... I accidently posted an additional comment, but its showing A.C. as the commenter.

I indicated that the frequency I'm hearing is in the 2500 to 3000-Hz range...

Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
I found this website:

[link to onlinetonegenerator.com]

You can test pretty much any frequency, as Sine, Sawtooth, Square or Triangular waveforms.

What I hear is right around 2850 to 2900 Hz, using the Sine and Triangular waveforms.

The audio application Audacity also has a sound/tone generator that works well, but you can't change the tone "on the fly" like you can with the website.

It would be interesting to know what frequencies people are hearing. Perhaps some could check out the website and post their results here? Are we all hearing the same frequency??

hesright

and your fucking around with psychotropics probably triggered it.

Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
Well, first of all, I don't use psychotropics, except for Prozac once a day, which I've used for 20 years and never had an issue of any kind; and second, I've had tinnitus in my left ear off and on for most of my life, and this is completely different and NEW and isn't limited to one ear or the other, and it doesn't go away... and it started only a few months ago, at least at this level of distraction.

That being said, I see my doctor next week, anyway, and will ask that this be investigated; perhaps it is tinnitus, but more pronounced somehow and for some unknown reason. Or maybe I have a brain tumor or something that's causing it. What I DO know is that it's rapidly becoming a nuisance and I would very much like to know what's going on!

Re: High Frequency Sound in my Head?
During the last few days I've been experiencing what would equate to a high frequency type sound I'm hearing in my mind, especially during meditive prayer. However, today I was sitting alone reading and it came out of nowhere and it seemed stronger than ever. I decided to stop doing whatever I was doing and just listen. The high frequency sound then seemed to pulsate and remained strong and consistant. I walked out of my room and out to other locations in the building, and even went outside. The high frequency sound remained as I walked about. I grew excited about this and really started to focus the sound. I imagined that this is what it feels like to raise your personal vibration as I've read so much about. Eventually the sound began to fade, but it has been on and off all night, and I feel like I can switch it on whenever I want when I close my eyes and focus. I know that it is not something I'm hearing with my ears, but is in my head. It seems to be more powerful during prayer or when I'm in a state of happiness or contentment. This coincides with an overall change in attitude I have about life, love, God, the universe, humanity and our collective spiritual evolution. I began to let go of hate, anger, fear, sadness, doubt animosity, etc. and began to try to convey feelings of love and respect for all people I encounter. When I'm alone I often reflect back on my life and think about those I've hurt and those who have hurt me. I've asked for forgiveness for any pain I've caused to others and have made a conscious decision to try to reconcile any wrong doings in my past, whether that be through direct action or intent manifested as thought. Even as I write this to share with you all I can hear the high frequency buzzing in my head.

Baby cakes I gots ta tells ya how to use a paragraph. When you use them it will make your post easier to read. For after every 4 to 6 sentences make a new paragraph.

If the subject matter changes somewhat from the prior paragraph that would be ideal as it tells the reader that a turn in the words or tone has changed. For some people reading is difficult too,so let the paragraph become your friend in type. Or I KILL you!! -JK-
