Yes. Remember though that some people are invested in destroying the ability of humans to live on this planet.

Christians come to mind.

Their religion teaches them that they have both a right, and in some sects, a duty to end the world so that their messiah will return and take them to heaven.

The old oil and coal men know that they'll be dead when it all happens and have been told that stopping now won't save the world at all, so they're going right ahead with business as usual.

Then you have the stupid people that won't admit that anything is wrong, no matter what happens.

No amount of superstorms, largest ever droughts, years of hottest weather ever in recorded history will change their minds. They only lose by trying to change now, so they won't, just hoping that their belief is correct, even when the facts don't support it.

On the "good" side, they're largely correct.

Human life as we know it is already doomed. Inside fifty years the worlds oceans won't be able to support half the life they do today. Land animals are dying off faster than we can count, especially insects and we do not really understand how that's going to effect other species.

Oh, the world won't die, but that doesn't mean we'll exist as we are now at all.

And nothing we can do at this point will stop it from happening.

Yay.

You wanted doom? There you go folks. You got it.

Ahh, so its the Christians fault! Time to start killing them again?

Are you per chance, any relation to Nero?

Wow, you're just wrong about everything in that statement, you know that?

Nero was a good leader torn down by detractors.

Not a relation of mine that I know of.

I'm not calling for the death or harm to Christians.
(There is no need, they're already dying. We all are. Enjoy the ride.)

Finally, I didn't say it was all their fault. They are just one of the groups with investment in letting the world burn.

I said that really clearly.

Don't try making this into a single issue. For one thing YES the Christians have done a whole lot to stop anything from being done about this problem. So are they, as a group, guilty? Yep.

If you;re a Christian and support your church, you have a big dollop of blame for this.

But you aren't alone.

A lot of people are responsible for the mess we're in now, a whole lot of them died a long time ago too.

Can't punish them for it and it wouldn't help if we did.
