As a Freemason myself, I can tell you that yes, there ARE degrees above 33 - 33 degrees relates to SCOTTISH RITE which has 32 degrees, and one extra honorary 33rd degree.

In the Misraim rite, as one example where I am a member, we have 96 degrees.

Yes, there are more than 33 degrees in Masonry. No, we don't try to hide that fact. There are 33 degrees in the Scottish Rite. There are many rites within Masonry, and once you complete the Blue Lodge you can choose which way you want to go. It's like specializing. Some of the rites are the well known Scottish Rite, with its 33 degrees, as well as the York Rite, the Rite of Strict Observance, Rite of Memphis Misraim, and according to some the Martinist Rites.

I invite you to your local Masonic Lodge, where you can talk with the Brothers and gain an understanding of the organization, and perhaps even petition for membership.

One Third of these Degrees are self-actualized states of existence. The reason why One never hears from A person of these Higher Degrees is often that they Are not engaging in the same "On the Level" experiences as their less Ascended Hive members. I am NOT a Freemason, HOWEVER, There are more Powers in this world than the Average Person could ever fabricate, and the truth behind it All is that YOU, ME, and ALL humans on Earth ARE THEMSELVES the TRUE POWER. There are a couple of appendant bodies that offer degrees "above" 33rd but they are considered "clandestine" (fake) Masonry. One such body is the Order of Phosphorous, a self-proclaimed Luciferian order started by charlatan Michael W. Ford. Another group that proclaims to offer 97 degrees is called the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Misraim and Memphis. This joke of a "lodge" is a small order that models itself after "continental" Masonry (also called French Masonry or Red Lodge Masonry). This order is considered clandestine as fuck. They initiate women and don't require a belief in God.

If a person is a member of any of the above two "lodges" (or any other clandestine lodge), they are not welcome in an AF&AM lodge.
