How to block heat/infra red scopes/cameras?!

Do space blankets work?

I would think...Might have to sew one into the inside of the clothing. Hiding in a hole works.

I did some research on this a few years ago, and the answer is so simple that it will probably take a few seconds to trickle into consciousness. A kind "oh..." moment.


What you need is a physical object to block the heat and enough distance from that object so that the heat behind it can dissipate.

So yes, an insulator like a space blanket works well, but don't wrap it around your body, set it up so that it acts as a wall away from you, letting the heat behind it rise into the air.

That's all you need. A regular blanket or even a sheet will work, if you have enough space left behind it.

A bush won't work, having too many gaps, but a bush with a space blanket behind it? Perfect.

Try not to stay in one place too long and remember, if they have infra-red, they have night vision as well, so constantly work to stay out of sight.

Often what works that way will also help with infra-red.

Hiding behind a building always works for instance.

A pane of glass works, in the dark (not for night vision!) as long as you don't touch it. So will a board propped up.

It isn't hard to beat infra-red, or night vision. You just need to be careful and plan ahead when possible.

if your going a grow op them tents are prett good at dispersing heat but you would need to use a thermal cam to see if it was working

Why do you think they banned lead based paint, had nothing to do with poisoning its so there cams would work.

you'd have block your heat, any exposed skin will glow. Anything exposed can be heated up with some type of lazer pulse that they use, making you even hotter. Your eyes will be permantly damaged from this lazer pulse if you are looking in the general direction and too many pulses is like welding with no welding helmet.

It uses light, light can be reflected with a mirror. If you shine the light back to the source, it can't see shit.

in my tireless experments with fun and bullchite stuff we found a couple ways to get away from night scope cameras

one quick easy way we stumbled upon was my buddy was wearing a green shirt,the exact same color as the night scope monitor,but a little faded, and it looked like a big hole in his chest with only his head and arms showing.
only bad thing was the wrinkles in the shirt would show and give it away.....

One way to block a heat camera is to destroy it...

Or block half of it so you no longer have the heat signature of a human, and therefore not worth bothering with.

you're speaking of the night vision cameras that amplify light, that's totally different from infrared. With those any light source or reflector will be too bright to look at.

you can still be seen though, blocking it all will make you invisible to infrared.

that's not easy to do either, even covered head to toe will still let out some heat, it'll help but you can still be seen.

disable the operator, win a free camera.

that's funny about destroying the camera, but hardly a good suggestion..drones/copters can be so far away that you can't even hear them, yet they can see you without worry of small arms fire.

unless you can see where the source is and reflect the light back(which also gives your position away), there's very little that you can do to keep from being seen, other than comeplete masking of your body heat and like I said earlier, that's not easy to do as eventually your body heat soaks into anything you wear.


infrared wasn't the reason for outlawing lead paint, lead is poison and had nothing to do with infrared, which probably didn't exist to anyone but military back then.
