I'd say "asteroid" portion is probably not likely yet, at least not until more toward the end of the year into early 2013. As to other events... WAR, a false flag, or economic collapse and Martial Law seems far more obvious and likely.

Jim Rogers: It's Going To Get Really "Bad After The Next Election"

In a riveting interview on CNBC, legendary investor Jim Rogers warned Americans to prepare for "Financial Armageddon," saying he fully expects the economy to implode after the U.S. election.

Rogers, who for years has been an outspoken critic of the Feds policies of "Quantitative Easing," says the world is "drowning in too much debt." He put the blame squarely on U.S. and European governments for abusing their "license to print money." In the U.S. alone, the national debt has surged to nearly $16 trillion, that's more than $50,000 for every American man, woman and child.

"[They] need to stop spending money they don't have," Rogers said. "The solution to too much debt is not more debt... What would make me very excited is if a few people [in the government] went bankrupt..." Rogers added.

Rogers also charged Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel with promoting dangerous policies that create the illusion the economy is stable... but are really only intended to buy time before their upcoming elections. It is possible that someone might go nuclear. For a typical low airburst the EMP would affect about a 100km radius. For a surface burst the effect would be much more limited. If someone was silly enough to detonate a weapon at 30 km of altitude you could kiss most Middle East electronics goodbye.

It would also damage perhaps a third of the low orbit satellites.

Since no one is going to do a high altitude detonation (since it is essentially shooting themselves in the foot) someone in the US really doesn't have to worry.

Hagel said due to cosmic energies leaking to Earth from outside our Sun's magnetic field, the electricity grids in 90% of the planet would go down by somewhere between October 2-October 13 2012, but not beyond October 14.

but I actually do agree that there's a high likelyhood that such major outages and events could begin occurring within less than 40 days... and thats why given the THREAT and DANGER on many different levels, I feel alarm bells need to be sounded to RAISE AWARENESS out there since once events begin to happen, such warnings from people like you or me etc, will be too late.
