It is strange that you say this because this is happening now in central N.Carolina. On Hwy 751 Between Apex and Chapel Hill there are 2-3 bridges that go over Jordan Lake. Last year they shut the whole road down and repaved certain spots that needed road repair. Last week they repaved the areas on both sides of the bridge. I thought it was weird b/c I know for a fact that they did this last year when they made the other road repairs. They work at night 8pm-6am and shut down the whole road. What I will need to do is drive down Farrington Road (which also had several bridges over the lake) and see if they have recently did repairs in front of these bridges too. These two roads are crucial for North/South transportation in this area.
Anyway, they are prob. just fixing the botched roadwork job from last year so they can get paid again, but I thought of the bridge as a control issue when I read this thread.
