This is not out of simple stupidity, it's a creepy reminder that we're descending into some sort of Brave New World like society where the state wants to own/raise the children.

If this sort of shit keeps going on uninterrupted, I can't imagine what the world will be like in a decade.

School officials did not deny the claim that they suggested amputation of the childs fingers as a way to keep him in line with school policy, but said that was but only one of the many options open to the parents.
