They blamed the slow response on Bush not really the hurricane per say.

Didn't he warn them 5 or 6 days before the hurrican?

I never heard anyone blaming Bush for Katrina, just for the bad handling of relief efforts. I don't like Bush, never did, but I don't think he blew up a hurricane, if anyone DID blame him for the actual event, then their name should be Moronica.

i am no fan of bush
at all
and won't vote for romney (or obama)
and i do think the response time was way too slow
there's no excuse for taking days to airdrop some water

that said, blame also goes to the people who stayed during katrina
we all watched that thing blow up in the gulf
knew it was a monster of a storm
warnings everywhere, 24/7, for days on end
buses sitting there empty when the local government should have been using them to evacuate people

so, despite the horrible response time by bush
the loss of life during the storm is the fault of those who refused to leave despite major warnings to do so
and the local officials who didn't act to get people out of there asap despite having the ability AND TIME to do so
katrina didn't just pop up out of nowhere
we watched it grow and knew it was going to be devastating
people had time to walk out of there before that storm

my sympathies, as always, go with the infirm, children, etc. who had no choice
every able-bodied adult in katrina had a choice and you can't blame the president because they made a poor one

and, no, they aren't going to blame anything on obama as the msm has opted to pretend like nothing happened
while people's homes are underwater
apparently the cheating gop's convention is much more important to them than americans losing everything and flooding in areas that aren't usually flooded
maybe they don't want to deal with the questions that are bound to be asked?
did the repairs to the NO dams cause surrounding areas to be flooded? if so, who is at fault? were the surrounding communities sacrificed for NO?

The slow response of the BUSH administration to the Katrina hurricane victims was a national disgrace!!!
