He campaigned with a teleprompter when he was running for the IL State Senate seat. They cost a few hundred bucks. Anyone is free to use them. Some simply choose to read from note cards.

Considering that Eastwood just ad-libbed the whole thing, he was funny as hell.

I'm not a fan of Clint Eastwood and his movies have always been a propaganda of the gun-toting-intolerant-hatred-based American way of life, but his sarcastic dialogue of the empty-chair was ingenious.
