stillhere User ID: 16315970 United States 09/09/2012 11:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I went to see it last night. Had to travel across town to another city because it isn't getting a broad release. (very limited release) I had seen the trailers and really was hoping for a great film. The two men who wrote and directed the movie were from the marketing industry. I think this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to films. It was poorly written, disjointed, slow, boring and just didn't make any sense. It takes place in Russia. THere is a lot of unnecessary stuff about Lenin and propaganda being the start of marketing. The stuff with the DNA strands in the trailer isn't in the movie at all. The did a storyline with Fast food companies losing business because people no longer wanted food that was bad for you, they made "fat" the new "in" to increase sales at fast food joints--which worked. The star hears voices in his head which tell him to commit a horrific satanic ritual where he chops up a red cow and burns it to purify himself. After this he sees things others can't. He sees the monsters portrayed in the trailer. He sees people's desires for the "branded" products. He then promotes vegetarian restaurants, gets advertising outlawed.... I was hoping for some "insider scoop" kind of outing of the marketing world--not some comic book "D" movie about stuff we all know exists. I wasn't buying into the "good guy" hero who commits such a horrific ritual just because he heard a voice in his head. He was acting as a farmer at the time and was caring for cattle. In my book--that makes him the bad guy or at least possessed. (at least in a "movie" kind of world. whatever they were trying to say didn't come across on the "big" screen at all, and they said they spent 95% of the budget on making the film--monsters and all, only 5% on "stars" salaries. The stars were ok, but they should have spent some money on "real" writers, and some "test" audiences. --Isn't that what marketing is all about??? So, in the end advertising is outlawed--you saw all the billboards disappear--ok, so what? The end seemed kind of sad. Although I was glad it was over. So, maybe there is a bigger conspiracy, and the powers that be edited their movie to remove the storyline, and all the insider secrets. The trailer was very good--save your money and just watch that again. Last Edited by stillhere on 09/10/2012 12:08 AM "You can bend it and twist it... You can misuse and abuse it...
