Neighbours evacuated and street cordoned off as police examine home of Alps massacre family

Police have cordoned off the road surrounding the home of the British family who were brutally shot dead in the French Alps, it has been reported.

Neighbours of the Al-Hilli family have also been evacuated from their homes in Claygate, Surrey, Sky News reported.

A perspex sheet has been erected outside the front door, but the reason for the sudden evacuation is unknown.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said at around 9.20am the cordon was widened.

They said: 'Surrey Police can confirm that due to circumstances around items found at the address in Oaken Lane, Claygate, officers have extended the cordon surrounding the property.
