Paris is burning - all westerners must be extremely careful in Paris tomorrow

Goodbye dear Paris.

Paris was the first city I ever saw in Europe when I was seven years old and my Grandmother and I flew on a TURBO-PROP for 17 hours from NYC to Paris We stayed at the George V which is now the Four Seasons and it was incredibly grand, even then. For a seven year old boy, it opened a whole new world and taught me that there was more to see and learn about than I had ever imagined could exist.

We spent two weeks there shopping (Grandma bought her wardrobe there each year) and I even got a suit or two made, along with slacks and my first little mini-sized topcoat, too. We would walk along the Seine and the Tullaries Gardens and down to the Louvre where we spent days looking at the paintings and the sculpture gardens.

I've been back many times over my life time. I've taken wives and lovers there both to celebrate a relationships beginning and once to try to salvage a destroyed marriage. (That didn't work but we had a hell of a good time saying "goodbye" over four days of non-stop sex!)

Paris has always been special and magical to me. I remember taking my own daughter there for the first time when she was only seven, and we also stayed at the George V. The room rates had increased substantially since my trip with grandma some forty years earlier. But it was still beautiful and still grand. My daughter is now 25 and still remembers it with great fondness and great love for the memories we made that trip.

To think that Americans who've always been able to go, settle in, and be free in Paris now will find the city dangerous or even denied to them because of the vile excrescence called Islam is wholly unacceptable. Why does the world have to bear the curse of this political system masquerading as a religion? Why couldn't Abraham & Sarah have trusted God a little bit more??

I will miss being able to go to Paris and be safe there wondering the streets and stopping for a demi and a croissant. Or a brandy and a demi on a cold day!!! <grin>

excellent decision. at least some people have the balls to stand up against religious insanity and defend free speech.

I'm so glad that I am agnostic, live in a small town in the middle of the USA. I seriously think the end of the world is soon to come. I don't believe all the prophecies, but everything that is happening in this world...how can we survive? It's a little scary, but I've lived a long enough life. Something no one can imagine is coming very soon!

Alsoamy others were called sons of God in the bible Jesus pbuh never states that he is the son of God and the Quran also speaks about the virgin birth of Jesus pbuh and Mary pbuh. Editor of the weekly Charlie Hebdo says caricatures to appear Wednesday 'would shock those who wanted to be shocked.'

A French satirical weekly magazine announced Tuesday it would publish caricatures depicting the Prophet Mohammed, a move that could spark further protests by Muslims already enraged at an internet video insulting Islam.

Stephane Charbonnier, editor of the weekly Charlie Hebdo, told broadcaster iTele that the caricatures to appear Wednesday "would shock those who wanted to be shocked." He said the decision was aimed at defending freedom of the press.
