Anonymous Coward User ID: 23598650 United States 09/21/2012 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | On tueday my cousin wasn't feeling so well. So she called in sick to work and just slept all day. The next day she decided to try and go to work. Barely into her shift, her head started PUNDING. She said it was the worst pain ever. Everytime she tried to talk, she threw up. That's how bad her head hurt. So her work called an ambulance and she went to the hospital. Quoting: *Heisenberg* She has now been there since wednesday. They say she has a bad case of West Nile. She still hasn't really spoke, because she still throws up when she tries to talk. They basically have kept her drugged up on pain meds so that she can relax. So she has been sleeping most of the time. They say she will most likely be in the hospital for about a month. It's just crazy, she is a 27 yr old healthy woman. Never really had any medical issues. Yet this still hit her sooo hard. The point of this story is to make sure you all take West Nile seriously. It's no joke. Like I said she is a healthy 27 yr old. Not an immune system compramised 80 yr old. Be careful, avoid mosquitos. Don't risk it. Also prayers for my cousin would be appreciated. Definitely sending healing thoughts your cousin's way. I survived West Nile. I did not have insurance and opted not to go to hospital, although neighbors were ready to box me up and take me. The symptoms are quite nasty and the course runs 10 days so seemed a long time to be sweating it out literally. There is no treatment although a buffed up immune system can help. I took oregano oil, olive leaf and a friend reminded me to take colloidal silver so I think it helped. It finally did let me loose and I am so glad to be well, it is like a new lease on life. I live in Texas and was felled by two mosquito bites. More often than not, mosquitoes do not care about me. I also had not realized the magnitude of the outbreak. Here in Texas we hear of deaths but not the people just getting sick. I did not take the issue seriously. So I agree that warning others to protect themselves is an important one. I do not go out after dusk now and use citronella like it was an anointing oil. Recently, just after I had contracted the virus, they were putting flyers in grocery sacks warning of the seriousness of West Nile. Also, a friend of mine, in San Antonio, remarked he had seen an article where they had tested mosquitoes at three of the bases there...Ft. Randall, Ft. Sam Houston, and I forget the other. Anyway, 90% of the mosquitoes tested were carriers of the virus. Those are odds that seem higher than an average and I did wonder if something had "gotten out" or was released as, it seemed to me, that the mosquitoes are much more aggressive too. So tweaking, perhaps? All I know, for sure, is I join you in admonishing others to be concerned. I would never want to get West Nile again. |

All they can do is make you comfortable and help with secondary effects. The only hopeful method seems to be Quoting: Kirk [link to www.dragonfly75.com] but you have to build your own. Campbell Douglas III MD gives good reports in his newsletter. He is curing AIDS and hepatitis C with it. Yup, that's all they are doing. Trying to keep her in as little pain as possible. |

ChivalryKnight The "lost" tribes of Israel=Europe! User ID: 10776423 United States 09/21/2012 12:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Have to say the spiritual parallel and symbolism of the word "Nile" is incredible given the time we live in and that of ancient Egypt. Without being accused of being a bible thumper there is great scriptural support where God (YHVH) literally promises not to allow affliction His children with any of the diseases of Egypt (Nile) with obedience to the law given unto Moses.... which includes sanitation and diet admonition as well as not putrifying the land with the blood of innocents (abortion... thou shalt not kill) Suffice it to say, the name of the virus has awesome spiritual dimensions and there are intercessors praying for healing of our land and removal of this plague. Definitely a time for fasting and self examination with Day of Atonement coming up September 25. Sad to say many Christians teach the law has been done away with.... with great consequence. I used to never get sick, now I have to overcautious about common colds, influenza, etc. One question, that no one has been able to answer. Can I get it again? One thing that I found to work excellent at common cold, flu, etc prevention is just taking 5,000 IU of vitamin D a day. Pretty cheap too. Here is info on how vitamin D works on your immune system - [link to www.vitamindcouncil.org] "It may be quite simple. Your body's innate immunity, especially the production of innate natural antibiotics called antimicrobial peptides, goes up and down every year with your vitamin D levels. (Acquired immunity is quite different, those are the antibodies you slowly develop after an infection or a flu shot.) Maintaining summer-time vitamin D levels in the winter—by taking adequate amounts of vitamin D (5,000 IU per day)—may help prevent colds or the flu by stimulating innate immunity. " Been doing this for 3 or 4 years now. Still amazed that Vitamin D actually works as advertised. Nothing else can do that. |
