Snap and wefare make up 2.5% of the budget.

Meanwhile. there is 16 trillion, with a mother fucking T, missing from the Fed. Not the deficit, thats a whole different 16 trillion.

The rich get people all fired up with this, look at the poor, taking all your money, while they are picking your pockets and most people idolize the rich and grasp at anything to be like them. They are laughing at you
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17549114

First of all, the deficit isn't 16T.

But if you admit we have a 16T debt, why should we be spending ANY money where we don't have to?

16 trillion.

Keep on thinking that Tyrone getin a pack of Newports on his EBT is the problem.

Are you to determine where we need to spend this money?

Re: I'm tired of people putting down people on food stamps
you know, some people really need them. what about cases of parents with small children who have both lost their jobs. i'm sick of people saying people on food stamps are losers, or they just want handouts, or whatever. yea, some people dont deserve them, but some people really need the help.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11483595

Food stamps are one of the reasons this country is failing it doea
Snt have anything to do with the people that use it. My mom and i have had to use them all my life. Now that im 18, i say fuck it. I work for what i earn. I dont take money from taxpayers. And i know over 80% of people with foodstamps dont need them. So guess what, ITS FREE, SWIPE YO EBT!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24234146

exactly....now that you are 18.....hey, what if your mom didnt have that kind of help while you were growing up?.maybe she would have had to sell her body, or sell drugs...maybe there were times you would have gone hungry for days on end...kids shouldnt have to live like that. because she had help for you growing up, now you are able to go out and make your way in the world. think of children that dont have the help you did...they have no chance to go out in the world and make a living for themselves...they have to continue living the life their mothers raised them up in because they didnt have help, lives of crime, drugs, prostitution,abuse...remember 50 cent? he said his mom chose not to raise him on welfare/foodstamps, and said instead she chose to hustle...well, she was shot dead and look at his life....he was shot to,,, thanks be to God he became successful...not all kids are so lucky
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11483595

They absolutely have a chance. They can actually pay attention in school and try to do well there. Lord knows, they will have more doors open to them coming from a "disadvantaged background" than someone who didn't.

But this economy is really sputtering along.

This massive jump in food stamps didnt just happen because people decided to all the sudden become lazy.

Sure there is abuse. Thats gonna come with any goverment funding.
Shady goverment contracting
Bailout money used to pay massive bonuses(I think that if you are not profitable, you deserve no bonus)
Tyrone getin some Newports with his EBT
Congressional earmarks to a nepotism nonprofits for millions
Goverment corporate subsidies
and on and on and on
So, we know welfare and food stamps is 2.2% of the budget.

I'm not against food stamps and welfare completely. With that said, my neighbors are a great example of the type that shouldn't be allowed on these programs. The woman doesn't work, the man does, but it's cash construction work so it's "off the books". These annoying, constantly fighting adult children live in a 600 a month apartment comfortably, and any money they make is untaxed and kept. As someone who works my ass off and pays for my own school, I find that type of behavior rather unfair.

Most of those pricks lived high on the hog when they did have jobs and never saved for a rainy day... Screw them, let them eat their own shit if they are that hungry!I'm tired of having my taxes going up to take care of these fucking scumbag bum leeches........
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24229340

In 2008, I was in a car accident where a driver fell asleep at the wheel and didn't have but 25k in ins. I have had 6 surgeries and numerous medical bills due to health issues as a result from the accident over 2 MILLION DOLLARS in medical and he was allowed by law to file banruptcy and never be accountable for his actions.

Thanks to him I lost my career making over 100k a year, being debt free, a credit score of over 800, all my savings over 100K, my daughter had to live with her father because I couldn't care for her and can't see her much because I am too sick to travel and do not have the money to fly her home, a swim and tennis community home, all my furniture, and my quality of life being bedridden and in a wheelchair at 40 years old...not being about to hike, dance, go to beach, hang out with friends, etc.

I live on $188.00 a month and if you count the $200 I get in food stamps...a total of $388 a month!!!

BUT, I am so blessed...God gives me strength to get through the day..every day. I am in SEVERE pain 24/7! There are days the pain has been so horrific and excrutiating I wanted to end my life but through my prayers, God has given me the inner peace to go on and do my best to make a difference in this world...to give back to my community even if it is just an encouraging and kind word to someone on the internet.

I do not want to "use" the system...I want to give back and be a productive member of society as I once was. I didn't vote for Obama in 2008 prior to the accident and will not vote for him in 2012. Nor will I vote for Romney as both parties are on the same team. I will vote for someone who is mostly likely to cut all my food money because it is liberty and freedom are what I believe in.

We in America take so much forgranted and many are not grateful for all the blessings God Almighty has given us which could be taken away in an instant and I believe will very soon because of the greed and lack of gratitude by most Americans. Many will be humbled very soon.

Would you like to trade with me?

Your grateful scumbag leech :-)

Say that 2 guys rob a bank. One gets a bag with a dye pack, the other not

Do you chase the guy with no dye pack first?
That money is marked, you will find it

Poor people have the dye pack, while the bankers and such run off with all the unmarked money to never be seen again

Re: I'm tired of people putting down people on food stamps
I'm not against food stamps and welfare completely. With that said, my neighbors are a great example of the type that shouldn't be allowed on these programs. The woman doesn't work, the man does, but it's cash construction work so it's "off the books". These annoying, constantly fighting adult children live in a 600 a month apartment comfortably, and any money they make is untaxed and kept. As someone who works my ass off and pays for my own school, I find that type of behavior rather unfair.

You educational money went to Egypt in the form of aid.

I think people who can't get a job should be eligible for Disability payments. Not being able to GET a job is just as debilitating as not being able to work one.

So you're volunteering to pay for failures?

What world do you live in where those people aren't eligible for other handouts, anyway?

failures?? so now innocent people driving along on their vacation with their family and are slammed head on by a drunk driver, children killed, and they are left a quadriplegic, are failures. you sir/madam are why this world is ready for God to come

Not being able to work a job (e.g., your disabled ppl,) vs. not being able to GET a job.

If you can't qualify for ANY job--not even a dogwalker--sorry, you're a failure.

true, but hopefully even people that are too ignorant to get a job can possibly be helped. they can get help to get educated and trained

Someone just told you how people abuse welfare and that's your response?

What education does one need for low-skill work? Is compuslory K-12 not good enough? How can you help someone who doesn't want to learn or to truly succeed?
