Child Support to be Extended to 26

The posted article is dead on - the insurance policy change to extend the age to 26 is to get students to stay in college and balloon their student loans instead of making a living for themselves.

The college tuition bubble of debt that cannot be written off through bankruptcy is going to swallow the world economy.

i hate that children must suffer the sins of their parents. theyre the real victims.

This. This would mean that I'd have only just recently lost support. I can't imagine someone supporting me while I've gone off, worked, had a family, bought a house etc. If you have the ability to do those things you don't need support. I can see possibly extending insurance benefits while a child is in college but past that is ridiculous.

What about men who romance women into marrying them, knock them up on their honeymoon,then leave them the day the baby is born, then have their rich mommy steal your kid from you only to put the kid in a group home so she doesn't have to bother with him,but still collects a check from the mother for the next 10 years,meanwhile father never pays a cent and got a free piece of ass.

So if someone lies in a article than it must be true. Child support will not continue til age 26. A child can stay on a parents insurance plan til age 26 if they are a full time student. They can even do this if the parents are still married and there is no child support by a court order. Fn worthless thread is worthless.

Does anyone here know how it feels to be a child of a father that pays no support?

Aside from the struggles of living in the instability of a single parent household, the shame of feeling like your father finds his myriad girlfriends, business associates and vices a more important investment than your basic need of food and shelter? The sense of rejection is devastating and overwhelming to them.

As most know, per Women's Study 101, even if they won't admit it, the earning capacity of women is significantly lower than that of a man, far more often than not even in this contemporary society.

There is so much distain here for women and children. It's sad, these kids are all of our futures, and the mothers and fathers should do everything they can to ensure the best outcomes for the children, how ever long it takes. Your kids are yours for a lifetime and they will always need your help and care, especially in these fiscally difficult times.

We were all meant to sacrifice for our children and give all that we can to make their experience of life better, to help them live their dreams and avoid struggles to the best of our ability. Many fathers have lost sight of that role and see only their personal financial well being or a need to exercise their personal vengeance against ex-wives at the expense of their children's well being.

If this is true then I see alot of people getting screwed, if child needs insurance because mother doesn't have and they force dad to cover one would say the child needs child support also to live and the courts will force it.

First of all, we have to get real and start population control of these dead beat dads which are a dime a dozen. The same animals who give the good fathers a bad name and make us good dads suffer.

It is not about the woman, parents or child, but the state making sure they get their money and stick their tentacles into the father's veins for the child's life.

It is not that the child support is just serious bullshit, but that the state child support attorneys and workers are some of the biggest pieces of human excrement I have ever met in my life. Oh wait, 90% of them are single moms or worthless dads who are lawyers with a personal an axe to grind via their jobs they hate.

They fawk people over just like Con-GreSS, mortgage brokers, real estate agents and lawyers. We each fawk one another in the a$$, imprison one another and steal from each other for kicks and a paycheck. Tis the American way now.

But people love to get all worked up over a lie. The truth is boring. The bill also says that you must pay for your child's first house and if your child marries, you must pay for the first two years of college of any children they have.

Many women also have children with men who turn out to be abusive and violent, or don't want to be in the picture at all. It goes both ways.

The words "child support" were not anywhere in that article. It was entirely about the availability of health insurance. They are certainly not going to allow us to claim our 26 year olds on our income tax return, so I am pretty sure everyone panicking will be fine. If you're that worried, call your local DCF office.
