Google unveils first-ever underwater “street-view” (and it’s amazing) | |

All of our desires for travel and exploration are being met with a click, and it is slowly sucking us into a "virtual" world where one never needs to leave his home. Also on the way is a whole lineup of virtual reality helmets and goggles offering 360 viewing and even mimicking smells and sensations of places like a carribbean beach. Google earth and sky and sea is fun, but I prefer the real thing. |

Google earth and sky and sea is fun, but I prefer the real thing. I want to travel the world for 10 years or so. I want to live in different countries to learn about different cultures, countries' histories, and just people in general. It's a nice thought, but it really doesn't work that way. You could travel long term if you were independently wealthy and planned your route carefully, but you can't. Google Street View has done a lot of good, I am now setting sail for my dream. I've been to many beach side destinations but never has my jaw dropped like it did when I stepped off the boat at Cala Luna beach on the east coast of Sardinia.
