I am in Raleigh and nothing here.

Where in NC? I'm in the extreme SW, 8 miles from TN and 3 miles from GA and felt nothing here.

there is a fault near the Appalachian Mts.

or it could be that the gov was
putting a new underground rail tunnel
between Charlotte and McLean VA
and their machine hit a gas pocket
and exploded.

I'm not seeing anything on any of the helicorders around the south except the big quake down in South America around noon.

If you did feel one it was extremely local and likely some sort of subterranean collapse (like whats going on in Louisiana) those aren't felt for long distances and don't usually show up on regional seismos.

I'm in Chapel Hill, NC..

When I felt it, I knew right away that the epicenter was some distance from here.. I'll check the other thread again because it seems like they felt it a lot stronger where they are.

We felt an earthquake tonight in Charlotte. The whole family felt two little jolts and then a quick rolling sensation. We are from San Jose California, and we know what a quake feels like. i just posted another thread, but have not seen anything on usgs. Wondering what is going on here.
