I remember watching his funeral service on TV a while back. I believe judging by the regalia and rituals involved that he was a Freemason.

Jimmy Saville is the tip of an iceberg.

I used to work for one of the biggest music co's in London, and was privy to info concerning the Jonathan King case in '01. Just senior management gossip as it were. Some of us knew King had been convicted on 2 counts, but the public didnt, simply because there were still 3 more cases to be tried that they didnt want to prejudice. The person who told us, we (me and my colleagues) knew was a freemason. So we assumed he had heard from other well-connected friends. He was crap at keeping secrets. As for us, we heard a lot of things with no real proof, and coming forward would only jeopardise your career. not to mention looking stupid if it was wrong. I got impression King carried the can for quite a few people.

At the time, we had to take it at face value, but when the news came out that King was convicted on all counts, we had to accept we were told the truth. pretty much most of what he said to us always panned out to be correct. So as time progressed we often had little reason to doubt him. He also said there were a whole bunch of household names implicated in the king case. Some of the biggest in the 70's and 80's.

After king went down, he then said "how jonathan king went down and jimmy saville didnt, is one of the biggest travesties of 20th century justice". that is some statement.

From what we were told, it was hard not to see these people colluding together to pass highly vulnerable children around like joints. not surprised the bbc have fought to avoid dealing with this issue. I am certain the BBC have prob tried to get an injunction on this programme and failed. So a judge must've decided there was overwhelming evidence that this is in the public interest. the bbc wouldnt just sit on their hands and let a competitor like ITV drag their name thru mud.

I had always seen it as gossip, until something came out proving or disproving it. But yet again, somethings happened that has proved my ex-boss correct.

If they (the media), have run with this story about Jimmy Saville of all people, then it's get the popcorn time - esp if any other victims come forward with proof regarding the other names associated with King/ Saville...

If its who I think you mean - someone I heard rumours about in the eighties but laughed them off as absolutely ridiculous- someone who like Saville built a career in which children featured a lot - someone who was advised, and who did "take a long break and do something completely different til it was safer".

As most will know, when being offered a good life, the threat to hurt one's family is always hanging overhead should they choose to step out of line and go against the organisation they work for. Also bear in mind that people are made to do things against their better will & judgement, even if just the once so as to keep them on a very tight leash.

Actors/Actresses can be hired. Films/Interviews can be made years in advance, just as photo shoots can be carefully planned in advance too, suggesting something other than the beauty of the captured subject(s).

I hope he, Sir Jimmy Saville wasn't. Perhaps he was another Jacko and liked to be surrounded by kids because they weren't all nasty c***s like the Adults in his life/world. In all reality, I don't think we'll never know for sure and will have to (dis)trust what we're about to be shown.

Surrey police has just confirmed in the last hour that saville was interviewed under caution over rape allegations in 2007.

There was someone who i actually sat and thought at the time, 'hang on a minute, I havent seen him on TV for a while...' esp when his career was at it's peak, he still had plenty of years ahead of him, and was a big player in kids tv. then he just seemed to disappear.

There was someone else too, who would surprise the nation even more than Jimmy Saville has, which is common knowledge in a lot of music circles. Another British 'institution'.

he took out an injunction against the sun over it, so dont be surprised if other people have injunctions too. talking about them online is contempt of court...and jail time.

you cannot be specific or even mildly specific with this stuff. you just have to wait til more victims come forward and force the issue.

hopefully more will have the courage now that the tide seems to be turning against saville. wait and see what the general reaction to programme is on wednesday. thats why i said get the popcorn...i've got a feeling there'll be a tidal wave soon.
